This past Winter was not good. The Pres, once again, was not feeling well. In December, right before Christmas, he was hospitalized for yet another "undetermined bleed". This year it was in his urinary tract. Lots of doctor visits and tests followed as you can imagine. Yet, we got through it.
I will admit though, that by the time the holidays arrived, I was exhausted and couldn't wait for a New Year to begin.
Yes, the annual January Eagle Survey was a success...our team spotted 11 eagles, including both adults and immatures! Finally, I thought...life is getting back to normal.
Then February came and all things good came to a screeching halt. It was FREEZING up here. In fact, the only place that Livy and I could even consider enjoying was our own backyard. The ground was like a frozen tundra...iced over as if we lived in the Arctic Circle!
Digging out my hiking poles and yak-trap, we made our way around the perimeter of our fenced-in yard...just to get in a few steps and fresh air every day.
Believe it or not, just walking around our yard, I was getting in a few miles every day. And believe me, walking is one way I'm improving my bone density!
Before too long, the Bald Eagles claimed their territory and yes, I am, once again, monitoring several Eagles' nests.
Then last month, just like clockwork, the Osprey retuned migrating back from Central and South America. I'll take on four nests again until September when they decide it's time to head South.
Writing this today, I hear the 40 mph winds, although it is no longer raining. Tonight's temps dip back into the 20's and tomorrow I'll hit the road and head to RI again to check on my daughter's house and spend some time with her cat while she's on vacation.
Sure, March came and went. The first day of Spring came and went. Even the peripheral edges of the ice at the reservoir finally began to shrink. Could it be that Spring is really on it's way and that Winter is OVER???
seeing, saying, sharing...
Winter is OVER

Sorry to hear the Pres was sick. Hope he's doing better now.
