A Touch of Blue
Arriving right on time this year, Fall has made our yard look amazing this year. Of course, having a lot of sugar maples among the tall white pines has made our place absolutely magical.
The Fall clean-up around the yard is just about done too. Yesterday afternoon I clipped down the Dahlias so I can dig up the tubers and tuck them away in the garage where they'll over-Winter.
Cooler mornings and cooler days has made being outdoors amazing! Even the Pres has been getting out in the yard now that the autumnal blue skies have arrived.
Did you ever notice that? The skies are definitely "bluer" in the Fall.
The upper garden bed is done as is the upper stonewall. Supposedly we're getting a freeze tonight and if that happens, I'll be clipping the Irises right down to the tubers. This is the first time I'll be doing that. All these years I had no idea I was supposed to be doing that.
Meanwhile, before moving on to the next topic I want to show you this. I am so tickled about this BLOOM on the oldest hydrangea let alone it's turning BLUE! Here it is the end of October and voila...the magical inspiration from Mother Nature herself. Now for some more news.
The Pres made a big decision recently. Deciding to stop plowing the shared road and our neighbor's driveways, he realized that he no longer needs to keep his trusty big, red Dodge Diesel. Yep, after nearly 22 years, it's finally retiring...just like us!
Of course, now that we've been getting prices for plowing, the neighbors now realize that the $40 he charged them for plowing their driveways and the shared gravel road was more than fair all these years.
Having both the snow blower as well as the ATV, we can still plow our own driveway if need be. Ours is a lot smaller than the neighbors so we'll be fine.
seeing, saying, and sharing...
