What's the Rush?

Looking out the slider the other day, I was watching all the Juncos and Cardinals cleaning up all the seed scattered on the ground.

Of course, there were three ground squirrels were trying to get their fill too.  Then one  (shown in the photo) dashed across the snow, up the steps, scurried across the upper deck, and leaped down to the lower deck. 

Jumping up onto the railing, it scurried over to the planter, jumped in and squatted (see photo below).  Lifting up it's tail and assuming a squatting position, I thought and am still wondering...is that squirrel going to the bathroom in my planter???
