A Long, Cold Winter
Trying to get a clear photo of the deer reaching up to browse on the Eastern Cedar (aka Juniper), I am afraid I failed. The doe would stand up but I just couldn't get the shot from inside the house. Knowing that I would disrupt them altogether if I went out on the deck, I gave up, deciding that them eating was more important than my photo. They were hungry or must have been since they were browsing on piles of dead, dry vegetation protruding from the deep snow and pawing at the feeders for dropped seed. I had left out a few cakes of suet thinking that something would nibble at them.
