Good Spot
When I first began to spot raptors and learned to identify them in flight, I wondered if I would ever get the hang of it. Surrounding me were people of various backgrounds who had done Hawk Migration Counts for years when I lived in VA. Standing there observing mesmerized and hearing their slang expressions and terminology, I wondered if I could ever learn such lingo.
Hearing someone shout out "good spot JP" while on a recent escapade made me fell pretty darn good as I watched the bird soar high in the distance. Am I an accomplished birder? NO. Am I improving as wine does with age? Perhaps.
