Busy Critter
Walking on the trails this past Winter has been easy because we haven't had much snow. I can't help but wonder if that's why I've been seeing so much beaver work. Examining the larger trees that they chewed the bark off of, I couldn't help but notice that the bark was removed about 30" up from the ground, meaning they stand upright bracing themselves with their tails. I know I can't catch one in the act, but I would love to! They also seem to prefer Beech trees. Now I'm wondering if it tastes like Beech-Nut Gum.
