The Old Card
Hearing the warnings about the outbreak of measles, I thought I'd better call the doctor. After all, I had a card I was given thirty years ago saying I was non-immune to rubella. While the Pres told me not to worry, I thought about all the contact I have with people and decided to play it safe. (In case you don't know, MMR stands for measles, mumps, rubella.)
I guess I should tell you that while neither the receptionist nor the doctor"ever heard of such a thing," it only took another blood test to prove that I was non-immune (uh-duh), which resulted in a scrip for the MMR vaccine.
