Our Heritage

While we were in RI the other day and once we saw the ships, we headed back to my daughter's place to get the truck. My daughter, who always shows us something of interest, passed by this place.

"Oh, Babe, can you stop so I can get a pic of the fence?"

"Sure Ma...hold on just one minute until the car behind us passes."  She then went on to explain about this farm.

The SVF Foundation is world renowned and their mission is quite simple really...saving heritage breeds.

Embryos and sperm are collected, stored and used to preserve rare breeds of livestock in a process called as cryopreservation on SVF (Swiss Village Farm) Foundation.

Set on 45 acres, this peaceful kingdom is not only home to the animals guarded by several Llamas and one well trained herding dog but is also a working farm.  Although not open to the public year round, many will pass through their gates to enjoy the foundation when they open their doors to the public once a year.
