Under The Table

Last week, we were busy...just plain busy.

On Monday, we had to attend a wake in Cape Cod and although sympathies went out to the remaining loved ones and friends, we took some time to drive around a little and had a wonderful late lunch before heading to the wake. When I asked the Pres to scoot over to the local beach just to see what it was like, we got to watch some folks enjoy the windy but sunny afternoon.

RIP Gerry.
I shall always remember for you for your smile...:)

The trip took most of the day and when we got home close to 9 pm, we were both tuckered out. Knowing that Tuesday was going to be a full day as well since we were heading to Rhode Island, I hit the sheets early.

Fast forward to Tuesday mid-morning...
destination Rhode Island.

"Mom, have you ever tried a Shandy?"

"A what????"

Well, now I can say...I have! They go very well with mixed nuts...:) A beer & lemonade mix...who would have thought?

Playing Zim Zam

Brrr...the water was cold even though we only went in up to our knees. Walking on the beach was beautiful though...bright, sunny, a slight breeze. Their beach is under strict management to help the plight of the federally protected Piping Plover and the state endangered Least Tern. For instance dogs must be on leashes and are only allowed during specific times of the day to prevent disturbance of nesting habits and nests.

It was a nice relaxing day...
shooting the breeze in the breeze...
enjoying the lunch they packed for us!

Then the Pres and I hit the road, stopped home, picked up my car and drove out to meet my son, DIL and Mia at a halfway point between their house and ours. Grabbing a bite to eat at the Athenian Diner, the conversation had moved to how someone we know is "working under the table."

Sitting next to me and now flapping the tablecloth gently, Mia joined in with, "Nana, does he work under this table?"

Without cracking a chuckle, I said, "No, Mia he doesn't work under this table. It's a different table...one for heating and air conditioning."

"Oh, good. Because I was going to say, he's not under here."

LOL...still...over that one

How about you?
Have you heard any good ones lately?
