Two Tough Cookies
Crown of thorns is a quite tough plant in cultivation, taking extreme conditions and still looking good. Several species and cultivars in the E. milii complex were introduced into cultivation in the 1970s that were used in breeding to produce a wide range of plant forms and flower colors.
This particular Crown of Thorns has been with me for eleven years!
Given to me in a beautiful arrangement by one of my branches, it kept me company when I lived in that wretched motel room for 93 days!! Needless to say, we both survived the dull, boring, long stay in the motel, the relocation, our home in Virginia and now resides happily in our dining room.
Yep.
We are both survivors!
