Colorful Life
Wednesday was my lucky day! No, I didn't win the lottery. Heck, I don't even buy tickets but...
when I walked into the locker room at the gym, there was a woman in there. We smiled at each other and I said, "Hi, how are you today?"
Her name is Andrea and what a sweetheart! She and her hubby just learned to kayak (took lessons through LL Bean like I did) and we found we have quite a bit in common so I know we'll be seeing each other on a regular basis.
When I left the gym, she was still working and sweating hard but I didn't care...no guilt on my part! Although I was happy to have met her, I was on my way to get a pedicure. The Pres and I are going to a party Saturday and we have company coming Sunday so I wanted my tootsies to look their part too!
Chatting with the owner of the nail salon, primarily about raising children, I noticed a gentleman walk in. Acknowledging and greeting him immediatley to take the seat next to me, the owner welcomed him with a huge grin. As he walked by me, I couldn't help but notice him. Tall, attractive, carrying himself with pride, he joined in our conversation almost immediately. When the owner smiled, looked up and said to him, "She just began Tai Chi classes" his eyes turned towards me giving me a calm welcoming look.
OMG! He studied and lived in Japan and China for years and even studied Aikido under Steven Segal, the actor! He went on to tell me of his practice, which offers a wide array of Eastern "medicine" including Sotai Ho, Acupuncture and Shaitsu to name a few.
Don't feel bad...I didn't know what half those things were either until I looked them up! Thank heavens for Google!
Handing me one of his cards, he gave even me a few pointers for Tai Chi referring to the type I was learning emphasizing the benefits. Before I knew it, it was time for me to leave. Shaking hands when parting, then exchanging hugs I felt very comfortable. Then a compliment came from his lips, "I like that color" (pointing to my toes).
Sometimes life can be so colorful!!
