V is for...

Venturing out that evening for the cookout, I mentioned that our plans to watch the sun actually set were interrupted by the locals catching the Moray eel.  However, I did manage to get a few early shots before the clouds rolled in...and after the wind blew away the Pres' plate!  Jennifer and I told him, that it was his own fault for not holding on to it.  Not happy, he vowed that he wouldn't do this again.  Oh well, on with the almost sunset.

The boat in the distance was going to make this picture very close to perfect.

Variations of a pinkish hue that appeared in clusters throughout the sky were absolutely spectacular.  Then those clusters simply banded together, forming something resembling a claw-like hand reaching across the sky directly above the horizon.

At one point, they/it intensified.

Then very near to dark, the hues dissipated, melding into the vast sky, becoming individual clusters once again.

I learned two lessons that night:

Hold on to your plate when it's windy.

The sun doesn't have to set to see real beauty.
