Follow the Gravel Road (cont.)

Come on, lace up your hiking boots!  We're ready to go for our morning walk.  Moon and Copper took a few bites of their breakfast and are waiting at the gate.  Let me just put on their halters and we'll hit the gravel road!

As we head up, the next house we'll pass is only about a quarter of a mile away from the Hollow.  You'll see it soon on the right atop a small ridge.  They are great folks!

Here's a picture looking down on their front yard now that we've made it up and around the bend.  You might be breathing harder by now because we are still heading up the mountain.

We're approaching the first horseshoe bend on the gravel road.  It's a great spot to stop and take in the view.  It overlooks my neighbor's place.

Looking up ahead of us, while we're at the horseshoe we see the challenge that lies ahead.  This is where we may start to "huff and puff".  Usually, Moon, Copper and I make it halfway up, then stop and take a two minute breather.

As you can see, we're nearly at the next horseshoe on the gravel road.  I'm glad that the steep part is behind us.  Oh, and before I forget to tell you, be careful on the way down because sometimes the gravel rolls right under your feet!

From the horseshoe bend, we can look out over the valleys below and truly see "blue ridges" in the distance.  See how beautiful!  Now you know why I come here each morning...:)

And this, my friends, is the "last leg" so to speak.  Once we've gone around that bend, we turn around and begin to make our way back down to the "Home in the Hollow", following the gravel road!

Thanks for joining the dogs and I on our walk for today.  Come again soon...:)
