Fruits of your Labor

Now I know many of you have flower gardens and some of you have vegetable gardens that flourish and produce all summer long.  In addition to both flower and vegetable gardens, we have been blessed with fruit trees.  Sure, when we bought this place seven years ago, there were had two old apple trees and one pear.  But since then. we have planted another apple tree, two peach trees, one plum, three cherry trees.  To the left you can see one of our apple trees already loaded.  So, this year, we'll be making up a lot of apple pie filling!  I'd better dig out that recipe because we'll be busy doing some canning.  Oh, and apple crisp...YUM!

As you may or may not know, it takes about 3-5 years for fruit trees to become mature enough to produce.  Well, our plum tree must be the right age!  Look at what we harvested the other evening!  The tree is so full that we'll have to pick every other day.  I hope our neighbors like plums.
