There Goes My Ride
While I was laid up with my back and thigh injuries, watching the Pres tool around on Lucy June made me feel even worse! Being "incapacitated" with pulled muscles (I think) in my back and right thigh, it just about killed me every time he went by the window the days he mowed.
Standing at the window and wincing in pain from the spasms, I watched as he tooled on by. However, one thing I did notice was that he didn't even do any cool designs in the yard! All he did was go back and forth, back and forth...no swirls, no diagonals...just blah mowing. Poor Lucy.
Yet, the real kicker was when he finally came in the house.
ME: "Did you blow off all Lucy's pulleys? There'd better not be any clumps of grass on the spindle. Did you get on your hands and knees and clean the underneath so there's no accumulation?"
HIM: "I blew off the pulleys. What spindle? No, I didn't clean under the deck. It didn't need it." (Now trust me when I tell YOU that after every mowing, Lucy is accustomed to having her deck underside scraped to remove accumulated grass.)
You already know what thoughts were going through my mind when he said he didn't, so I don't have to tell you. However, what I will say is that once I began moving around with a "Thermacare" heat wrap on my back, one of the first things I did was pay a visit to Lucy June parked in the Pres' garage.
The day I hopped on her, I knew I would soon be "back in the saddle".
